Benefits: Medical Aid, Pension Fund, etc.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Experience\/Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BSc (Mechanical Engineering) \/ B Eng (Mechanical), B Tech (Mechanical) with 5 years minimum experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities &amp; Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity and code compliance of all piping designs on assigned projects.<br \/>\nPrepare project specific standards and job notes.<br \/>\nPrepare requisition index for special piping items, indicating planned issue date for each requisition and update monthly.<br \/>\nPrepare general notes requisitions or purchasing requirements for piping.<br \/>\nUpdate pipe stress index on a monthly basis.<br \/>\nReview flowsheets for correctness of depicting piping and material.<br \/>\nDesign and requisition piping special piping items.<br \/>\nEnsure the technical accuracy of specifications within the 3D design system and maintain relevant reference data as required.<br \/>\nPrepare support sketches for the drawing office.<br \/>\nPrepare and check piping bulk requisitions in conjunction with the MTO group.<br \/>\nReview all piping drawings and ensure that the quality of design and drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard.<br \/>\nPrepare technical bid analysis for special piping items.<br \/>\nAttend coordination meetings and engineering review meetings with suppliers as required.<br \/>\nReview document requirements and issue dates for major equipment with suppliers and assist Procurement Department in compiling a Supplier&#8217;s Document Index.<br \/>\nAssist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents.<br \/>\nGive guidance to Client, Project Engineers, other Specialist Engineers and Inspectors on piping engineering matters. Review piping aspects of package unit suppliers&#8217; drawings, as requested by the Engineer responsible for the equipment.<br \/>\nAdvise the Principal\/Senior Piping Engineer of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action.<br \/>\nAdvise the Principal\/Senior Piping Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups.<br \/>\nCoordinate with Procurement Department and ensure that certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules.<br \/>\nNotify the Project Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data or other basic information required for execution of work.<br \/>\nAssist the Principal\/Senior Piping Engineer with the monthly progress reports.<br \/>\nFollow up piping construction work on projects sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation.
