{"id":16309,"date":"2014-01-10T12:42:34","date_gmt":"2014-01-10T10:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=16309"},"modified":"2014-01-10T12:42:34","modified_gmt":"2014-01-10T10:42:34","slug":"nba-basket-ball-internships-marketing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/nba-basket-ball-internships-marketing.html","title":{"rendered":"NBA [Basket Ball] Internships in Marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0JHB<\/p>\n<h3>Position Description<\/h3>\n<p>The Intern will assist with the Global Marketing Partnerships department regards the strategy, planning, research and business development of NBA partners and prospects in Africa.<\/p>\n<h3>Major Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p><b>Business Development:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in new business category research and outreach process<\/li>\n<li>Research potential targets and industry trends, develop company fact sheets for meeting preparation<\/li>\n<li>Research key companies and track properties in which they are currently involved<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with NBA NY and London Offices to retrieve most up-to-date research information for International markets<\/li>\n<li>Assist in creating and updating sales materials<\/li>\n<li>Prepare outreach to key categories\/companies (e.g., letters, research contact information)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Partnerships:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and manage marketing partners\u2019 contractual benefits (including event sponsorship, promotional obligation, and media advertising)<\/li>\n<li>Assist with marketing partner activation<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with NBA NY and London Offices for best practices and resources in the execution of local marketing programs<\/li>\n<li>Assist with preparing presentation materials for marketing partners and internal meetings<\/li>\n<li>Assist with sponsorship valuation and ROI assessment<\/li>\n<li>Various departmental duties as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Required Skills\/Knowledge<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Creative thinker<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Organizational and multi-tasking skills<\/li>\n<li>Hard worker<\/li>\n<li>Significant experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with sports and entertainment marketing, media and events<\/li>\n<li>Additional creative\/graphic software experience a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Experience Needed<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of sports industry.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient computer skills including: Word, Lotus Notes, and PowerPoint and especially Excel<\/li>\n<li>Ability to absorb a large workload.<\/li>\n<li>Be self-sufficient, a quick learner, and a problem solver<\/li>\n<li>Values: open-minded, smart, team player, enthusiastic, tenacious<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Educational Background Required<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Current student enrolled full time in University at undergraduate \/ masters level or 2013 graduates.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred fields of study: Marketing, Advertising or Communications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How To Apply<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/careers.peopleclick.com\/careerscp\/client_nba\/external\/gateway.do?functionName=viewFromLink&amp;jobPostId=4044&amp;localeCode=en-us\" target=\"_blank\">Apply Online<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Location:\u00a0JHB Position Description The Intern will assist with the Global Marketing Partnerships department regards the strategy, planning, research and business development of NBA partners and prospects in Africa.
