APPLICATIONS MANAGER: SA COMMERCIAL<\/p>\n
WOODMEAD<\/p>\n
Applications are invited for the above-indicated vacancy that exists in the IT Department. The incumbent will report directly to the IT Manager; SA Commercial.<\/p>\n
Objective: To supervise and coordinate the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of computer software applications. Oversee the analysis of user needs and make recommendation of software applications.<\/p>\n

MAIN DUTIES:<\/p>\n
General:<\/p>\n
Design and develop cost effective solutions that meet functional, technical, and performance requirements<\/p>\n
Map business requirements to technology capability<\/p>\n
Ensure project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards<\/p>\n
Identify gaps and omissions in the end-to-end solutions<\/p>\n
Responding timeously to customer queries and providing feedback<\/p>\n
Maintain current knowledge of all relevant technological developments and seek opportunities to deploy new technologies<\/p>\n
Identify, clarify, and resolve system development and maintenance activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed<\/p>\n
Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plan for applications development staff. Assign work activities, projects and programs. Review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures. Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems<\/p>\n
Have a good understanding of the solution technology components and how they are used together<\/p>\n
Analyze business systems to determine effectiveness. Identify inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommend solutions. Develop system specifications. Recommend application software development<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
IT Projects<\/p>\n
Review proposed systems software for compliance with applicable quality assurance standards before acquisition or implementation.<\/p>\n
Document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary<\/p>\n
IT Audit Participation<\/p>\n
Participation at Woodmead in applications audit activities during internal and external audits<\/p>\n
