\nRole Purpose:<\/strong>
\nThe role of the Operational Risk Specialist is to ensure that risk management programmes are designed to identify risk exposures at a process level and to perform a risk assessment to determine the residual risk. The role involves effective implementation of risk assessment programmes so that management can be provided with accurate risk information for effective decision-making on internal controls. It includes collecting risk information and drafting reports to management on losses and risk exposures. The risk specialist must engage all stakeholders in the business in ensuring that potential risks to the business are identified and being managed. The candidate must have a dynamic character, spend time understanding business and be prepared for robust discussions around risk in the business. The Operational Risk Specialist is required to assist business in finding solutions to challenges as they arise over and above helping business identify and classify risks appropriately.<\/p>\n
\nExperience:<\/strong>
\n3 to 5 years experience in business operations. Prior experience in Auditing and Risk Management is recommended
\nExperience in risk identification and assessment.
\nEvaluation of controls in business processes.
\nExperience in reading financial statements.
\nUnderstanding the role of credit assessment.
\nUnderstanding of risk identification and assessment
\nReview of processes and controls
\nAn understanding of legislation and its impact in the retail and credit environment is recommended<\/p>\n
\nQualifications:<\/strong>
\nA BComm degree, preferably with a financial background or a Risk related Diploma is required.<\/p>\n
