Main Purpose of Job<\/strong> <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n Ensure buildings and grounds assets are maintained in a \u201cSafe to operate\u201d condition at all times while promoting all aspects of safe working practices to meet all safety and housekeeping objectives of the services plant and buildings. Ensures safety, quality, housekeeping and standard work procedures are adhered to at all time and are to world class standards Ensure that activities and production schedules are meeting targets and those delays and deviations are rectified immediately. To Control expenditure to within prescribed monthly and annual spending levels <\/p>\n Key Competencies \/ Skills<\/strong>
\nLeading a team of boiler controllers and contractors to ensure Services, Building and Grounds are managed, maintained in a safe condition and good as new condition.
\nTo Lead and Control the Steam Generation Plant at Enstra Mill
\nTo ensure Safety and Housekeeping is in-line with EHS standards.
\nTo ensure all Statutory and Regulatory requirements for Boiler Operations and ancillary equipment are complied with
\nTo ensure Optimal Plant Availability and Efficiency.<\/p>\n
\nOptimise mechanical systems together with maintenance of boilers cooling towers and compressor equipment in order to achieve optimum plant and process reliability.
\nPlan, organise and control the services departmental contracts and related Projects, of buildings and grounds maintenance.
\nManage budgets and contracts effectively.
\nResponsible for all utility reading ,verification and balance to service providers.
\nEnsure compliance to statutory, regulatory and KC PMS (Planned Maintenance standards) and ensure that schedules are in place in the planned maintenance system to ensure they are completed as per frequency required.
\nIdentify issues and opportunities for improvement through modifications and upgrades.
\nManage changes in process requirements brought by changes in raw material specifications and productivity requirements, adherence to Management of Change (MOC) process.
\nTrain, develop and improve personnel skills by means of on-the-job as well as technical and generic training.
\nCommunications – provide relevant and timely communications at all levels.
\nOSH Act GMR 2 (7)(a) appointment.<\/p>\n
\nEnsure Optimal Boiler Availability and Steam Generation Efficiency. Ensure optimal compressor efficiencies are achieved.<\/p>\n
\nTo actively engage in problem solving and failure investigation activities in the plants, in order to enhance productivity, efficiency and maintenance programmes on plant services equipment.
\nTo develop solutions to problems thus improving equipment life-cycle costs and or decreasing plant downtime.
\nEnsure all correct raw materials that are required, are available<\/p>\n
\nProvides leadership, coaching and development for teams and individual members in the shift.
\nAttend to IR and HR matters and take appropriate action
\nEnsure all internal controls and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
\nEnsure compressor, effluent, dust control systems and other ancillary equipment is maintained in accordance with KC PMS standards.<\/p>\n
\nQualifications<\/strong>
\nAt least an N4 National Diploma
\nQualified tradesman preferably boiler making
\nCP steam generation coalification
\nMinimum of 5 years experience on Boiler Operations with at least 2 years supervisory experience.
\nSound technical knowledge and good leadership skills.
\nAbility to organise, lead and delegate subordinates and maintain effective control.<\/p>\n
\nFunctional Standards
\nBoiler operations and maintenance experience
\nExperience with compressed air installations, control and maintenance.
\nHas demonstrated good leadership qualities in line with K.C policies and practices.
\nProcess improvement and maintenance experience<\/p>\n
