The graduate program is a 12 month programme. The position within the Graduate Programme is that of an information Officer. The incumbent will be required to perform tasks supporting |ive events within the Durban ICC which is a 24 hour business. The position reports directly Sales &amp; Corporate Affairs Managers, working closely with Sales &amp; Event Project Managers.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">QUALIFICATIONS. EXPERIENCE &amp; COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Minimum Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hospitality Management, Tourism \/ similar tertiary certification<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Good command of the English language (both written &amp; verbal) \u00bf\u00e0 guest relations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Exce\u00ee &amp; Outlook)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Preference will be given to candidates fluent in French, German, Spanish or any other language o Tourism experience advantageous<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Attributes<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Good communication skil\u00ees.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">High tolerance for working under pressure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Confidence to deal with irate l difficult clients.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Attention to detail and qua\u00eeity orientated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Willing to work flexi~hours (including weekends &amp; public: holidays) as and when business dictates.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Team player<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Key performance areas include but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Welcome visitors, establish the nature of their business and direct them to the appropriate individual. Ensures knowledge of events taking place in the venue to be able to satisfy basic client queries. Provide concierge services to guests attending conferences and events.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Assists with guest relations regarding feedback from clients and guests.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Conducts site tours for the Durban ICC complex when requested;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Handles telephone enquiries for Marketing, Sales and Events.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Provide marketing support when required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Attend to incoming telephone calls and transfer calls to relevant extensions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ensure that the appearance of the reception area projects a professional image of the Durban ICC. Updates and forwards internal extensions, emergency numbers and frequent contacts to all personnel.
