(Proof of above requirements must be attached to a detailed CV to qualify for the evaluation process). <\/p>\n Competencies (knowledge\/skills):<\/strong><\/p>\n Ability to be trained in forensic investigation and evisceration and display proficiency therein. <\/p>\n Duties (key result areas\/outputs):<\/strong><\/p>\n Effective and efficient recovery, storage and processing of deceased, that includes physically collecting, processing, and safekeeping of corpses, information, exhibits and property from incident scenes. Note: Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to an interview and competency test, a security clearance prior to appointment, a pre-visit to the Forensic Pathology Laboratory, undergo a driver\u2019s test and a psychometric evaluation test.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Instruction to Applicants:<\/strong><\/p>\n Z.83 forms (obtainable from any Government department or www.westerncape.gov.za) must:<\/p>\n Be completed in full, clearly reflect the name of the position, name and date of the publication (candidates may use this as reference), be signed, accompanied by a comprehensive CV, the names of three referees, and certified copies of ID, driver’s licence and qualification\/s. As directed by the Department of Public Service & Administration, applicants must note that further checks will be conducted once they are shortlisted and that their appointment is subject to positive outcomes on these checks, which include security clearance, qualification verification, criminal records, credit records and previous employment.<\/p>\n Circular H8\/2004 dated 8 February 2004 contains complete details regarding the revised non-pensionable recruitment allowance (rural allowance) for certain categories of Health personnel.<\/p>\n Candidates must refer to this Bulletin and the date thereof. \nRequirements
\nMinimum educational qualification:<\/p>\n
\nWill be required to wear a uniform.
\nWill be required to travel for long periods of time.
\nWill be required to work shift duties\/office duties and overtime duties.
\nNo criminal record
\nAbility to lift and work with heavy corpses (mutilated, decomposed, infectious viruses, etc).<\/p>\n
\nAbility to display proficiency in vehicle handling, on-road and off-road and undergo 4X4 vehicle training. Ability to display proficiency in photography skills.
\nAbove average communication skills in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
\nAbove-average computer and software literacy in at least MS Excel and MS Word.
\nAbility to interpret, understand and apply policies.
\nAbility to communicate clearly and discreetly in person and in writing.<\/p>\n
\nAn effective forensic autopsy process rendered in accordance with set standards and guidelines by assisting the forensic pathologist in autopsies (evisceration) and x-raying of corpses.
\nOptimal control of reports and specimens during and after the Forensic Mortuary process including the completion and administration of statements and documentation.
\nRender an efficient support service to the Forensic Pathology Laboratory Manager with regard to the management of the forensic pathology laboratory.

\nStandard Operating Procedures must be adhered to at all times.
\nAccurate and comprehensive capturing of Data onto the Forensic Pathology services IT system and any other data basis provided by the department.
\nAttendance of possible court cases and delivery of testimony when subpoenaed to do so.<\/p>\n
