{"id":16958,"date":"2014-03-06T14:36:40","date_gmt":"2014-03-06T12:36:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=16958"},"modified":"2014-03-06T14:38:00","modified_gmt":"2014-03-06T12:38:00","slug":"senior-civil-structural-engineer-worleyparsons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/senior-civil-structural-engineer-worleyparsons.html","title":{"rendered":"Senior Civil \/ Structural Engineer at WorleyParsons"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Civil \/ Structural Engineer<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Job Type:\u00a0Full-time<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Advertising Category:\u00a0Engineering\/Design &amp; Sciences<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Location of Job:\u00a0Pretoria, GT 181 ZA (Primary)<\/div>\n<div><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Job Description<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"job_details_ats_requisition_description\">\n<p>Title: Civil \/ Structural Engineer (Namibia)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:<\/strong>\u00a0Project Manager \/ Chief Discipline Engineer \u2013 Civil \/ Structural \/ Architectural<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervises, assigns, and schedules the Civil \/ Structural Engineering activities for a specific Area \/ Unit under the general direction of the Chief Discipline Engineer and may supervise small groups of engineers, designers or detailers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Input to coaching, teaching, mentoring and effective supervision of assigned personnel<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the development of Project Civil \/ Structural Engineering CTR\u2019s for review with Chief Discipline Engineer<\/li>\n<li>Reports to the Chief Discipline Engineer the status of Civil \/ Structural Engineering activities and deliverables<\/li>\n<li>Initiates the development of all required discipline deliverables for the assigned area<\/li>\n<li>Ensures communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within Civil \/ Structural Engineering group and with other engineering disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Assists with the upkeep of storage and listing of all Civil \/ Structural Engineering specific standards stored on the computer network<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates Civil \/ Structural Engineering design activities with other design and engineering groups<\/li>\n<li>Identifies deviations in job scope, estimates, and initiates PVN\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Receives and distributes design instructions pertaining to plant design requirements and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Represents Area \/ Unit Civil \/ Structural Engineering in meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, clients, and other Company disciplines, and produces documentation required for conference or meeting notes<\/li>\n<li>Reviews and approves Area \/ Unit Civil \/ Structural Engineering design drawings<\/li>\n<li>Submits Area \/ Unit Civil \/ Structural Engineering design drawings to Chief Discipline Engineer for issue<\/li>\n<li>Monitors quality control for assigned area<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the development of the Civil \/ Structural Engineering project completion report<\/li>\n<li>Stand in for Chief Discipline Engineer if required during periods of absence<\/li>\n<li>On assignment to the field, co-ordinates or carries out work on site surveys, measurements, acts of acceptance, and other site engineering activities<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"job_details_ats_requisition_requirements\">\n<p><strong>Essential Skills\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preferably 7 \u2013 10 years plus relevant, depending on the individual, prior experience or additional training, job assignments, etc<\/li>\n<li>Preferably 2 to 4 years of relevant building project experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matching Indicators<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineering degree or B Tech from recognized institute<\/li>\n<li>Professional registration at the Engineering Council of Namibia (ECN)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0This Job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work expected to be performed by employees within this position.
