Job Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n RECORDS ADMINISTRATOR \u2013 TASK GRADE TK: 9 <\/p>\n REQUIREMENTS \u2022 Grade 12 certificate and a qualification in management <\/p>\n KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n \u2022 Controls the processing of all incoming mail and the \u2022 Exercise control over the filing and checks the opening of new file covers and or replacing thereof; \u2022 Safeguards the records and ensures that all the items can be accounted for;<\/p>\n \u2022 Prepares and maintains a list of other archives;<\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise the archives staff to ensure the correct application of all registry related work is adhered to;<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensures that all archives staff receive training on Records Management and related fields;<\/p>\n \u2022 Liaise with the Central Archives department for disposal authority in terms of relevant legislation<\/p>\n \u2022 Handles and facilitates disposal of documents in compliance with the Archives Act;<\/p>\n \u2022 Safekeeping all the Council\u2019s sureties. E.g. Title deeds. \nof archives and administration \u2022 Three years applicable practical
\nexperience in local government or municipal archives administration;
\n\u2022 Proven supervision, co-ordination and facilitation skills; \u2022 Ability to work
\nindependently and supervise staff; \u2022 Extensive knowledge of Archives Act and
\nother related legislation; \u2022 Knowledge of Computer systems used in an Archives
\n\/ Records environment; \u2022 Good communication and analytical skills; \u2022 Ability
\nto speak two official languages spoken in Cacadu District Municipality area of
\njurisdiction \u2022 Experience in electronic records management systems will be an
\nadded advantage.<\/p>\n
\nfiling of correspondence to ensure compliance with the Act;<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Maintains and updates the filing index and register of files opened;<\/p>\n
