About the job:<\/strong><\/p>\n CSIR Consulting and Analytical Services (CAS) unit has vacancies for Project Managers in the Municipal Service Delivery business area that supports local government with implementation support. These positions are based in Durban.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Do contract management. <\/p>\n Qualifications, skills and experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n A Bachelor\u2019s degree or any tertiary qualification deemed to be equivalent by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). <\/p>\n
\nIdentify project requirements with a team-based approach.
\nEstablish clear and achievable objectives.
\nBalance the competing demands for quality, scope, time and cost.
\nAdapt the specifications, plans and approach to the different concerns and expectations of the various stakeholders (handling all possible conflict situations).
\nInitiate, plan, monitor, control and complete a portfolio of projects.
\nMonitor and control project progress including regular consolidation of financial data.
\nGenerate and present projects progress reports as and when required.
\nEnsure that high levels of data integrity are maintained on all CSIR systems.
\nEnsure that all project documentation is filed appropriately and accessible at all times.
\nManage of project level budgeting.
\nDo financial administration.
\nDo stakeholder management.<\/p>\n
\nFormal qualification in project management.
\nThree to five years\u2019 experience in project management.
\nAbility to work well in a team.
\nAbility to interpret client needs and requirements and scope the activities.
\nAbility to manage and report effectively on activities according to approved project plan.
\nAbility to work across project boundaries and with complex projects.
\nAbility to budget affectively.
\nExcellent report writing skills.
\nIntegration and synthesis of project results at high levels.
\nGood organisational, communication and people skills.
\nConflict management skills.
\nFull computer literacy and competency (MS Office including MS Projects).
\nExperience in ensuring implementation of multi-disciplinary project plans\/strategies across organisational boundaries.
\nExcellent team and stakeholder communication.<\/p>\n
