This person will report to the Manager: Television Archives and will be based at our offices in Randburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Outputs<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The outputs include the following:<\/li>\n<li>Catalogue ingested content to the pre-determined level of granularity<\/li>\n<li>Create a bibliographic description for all local programme material.<\/li>\n<li>Create an accurate and appropriate abstract of the content of a programme or insert.<\/li>\n<li>Assign appropriate keywords from an in-house thesaurus for effective retrieval<\/li>\n<li>Catalogue programme content, shot, scene and image by analyzing and assessing the nature of the programme, shot, scene or image (copyright, duration, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Shot list and tag all third party stock footage (assign Copyright Warnings where applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Provide all relevant information regarding ownership and re-use of third party stock footage.<\/li>\n<li>Edit, catalogue and store selected valuable raw footage<\/li>\n<li>Stock footage processing and selection from raw materials (production shoot tapes) by identifying and selecting usable royalty and clearance free stock footage from productions shoot tapes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Qualification<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant graduate and\/or post-graduate degree in Information &amp; Knowledge Management<\/li>\n<li>An excellent understanding of customer service\/service excellence<\/li>\n<li>Passion for the media industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Competencies<\/h3>\n<p>Functional capabilities which are critical to the production of quality outputs are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to write informative and descriptive abstracts<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of copyright<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills (verbal and written)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deal with detail for concentrated periods of time<\/li>\n<li>Ability to learn quickly<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be flexible and adapt to different situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How To Apply<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/multichoice.erecruit.co.za\/candidateapp\/Jobs\/View\/070414-8\/Archivist(_Internship)?source=Indeed&amp;utm_source=Indeed&amp;utm_medium=organic&amp;utm_campaign=Indeed\" target=\"_blank\">Apply Online<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Location:<\/b>\u00a0Randburg<\/p>\n<p><b>Closing Date:<\/b>\u00a014 April 2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>M-Net seeks to appoint a qualified individual to assume responsibility as Television Archivist (Internship).
