Appointment requirements: <\/strong><\/p>\n An appropriate three (3) year tertiary career-related qualification (Diploma or Degree) in one of the following building disciplines: Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Management, Building Science, Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying. <\/p>\n Personal attributes \/ competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n Integrity, Intelligence, Patience, Innovative thinking, Willingness to accept responsibility, Decisiveness, Ability to pay attention to detail<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Duties: <\/strong><\/p>\n Inspecting buildings and building work within the prescribed timeframes in order to control the quality and safety of structures in compliance with the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977), as well as any other related legislation <\/p>\n
\nThe successful completion of the Law Enforcement Course and appointment as Law Enforcement Officer in terms of the Criminal Procedures Act, 1977 (Act 51 of 1977)
\nValid Code B driver\u2019s license with own transport
\nComputer literate<\/p>\n
\nThe recommendation regarding the granting or refusal to grant permission to use a building before a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977), by: The recommendation regarding the issuing or refusal to issue Certificates of Occupancy in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977).
\nThe Investigation of contraventions by Investigating complaints received by public and other roll players within the prescribed timeframes in order to control the orderly build environment as well as the quality and safety of structures in compliance with the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977), as well any other related legislation Contraventions in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act and the National Building Regulations:
\nThe performing of Law Enforcement by: Issuing of contravention notices in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977), within reasonable timeframes and the following up thereof by the expiry date.
\nPerforming of Subdivision of Sites and\/or Consolidation inspections: Performing all inspections within acceptable timeframes, Ensuring that all documentation is correctly completed, Providing advice to public and other roll players regarding inspection requirements and compliance to the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977).
