{"id":177,"date":"2010-03-05T13:49:56","date_gmt":"2010-03-05T12:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=177"},"modified":"2010-05-05T13:50:18","modified_gmt":"2010-05-05T12:50:18","slug":"rio-tinto-south-africa-technicians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/rio-tinto-south-africa-technicians.html","title":{"rendered":"Rio Tinto South Africa: Technicians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rio Tinto<\/strong> is a leading international mining group headquartered in the UK.\u00a0<strong>Rio Tinto&#8217;s<\/strong> business is finding, mining and processing mineral resources.\u00a0Major products are aluminium, copper, diamonds, energy (coal and uranium), gold, industrial minerals (borax, titanium dioxide, salt, talc) and iron ore.<\/p>\n<p>Rio Tinto South Africa recruits: <strong>TECHNICIAN: PCS &#8211; MSP\/TTP &#8211; RIC0000R<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>The primary purpose of this role is to provide control systems support and execution of related projects.<\/div>\n<div><strong>Key Objectives<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish and maintain the smooth operation of process control infrastructure networks (PLC&#8217;s level 2 systems, networks, computer hardware and software) to support plants, mines and RMM<\/li>\n<li>Fault-find, rectify,\u00a0modify and test PLC hardware and software, HMI, Expert Systems, Telemetry, Ethernet network and other process control equipment<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the design of project solutions and effective implementation in accordance with\u00a0project plans<\/li>\n<li>Offer technical support to plant\u00a0technicians and external contractors<\/li>\n<li>Compile functional specifications\/scopes, reports on investigations, conditions of assets and project-related services for process control systems<\/li>\n<li>Log SAP notifications and purchase requisitions<\/li>\n<li>Plan, order and ensure stock\/equipment and operate within set financial parameters<\/li>\n<li>Research, develop and improve existing methods, technology and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Implement change where required<\/li>\n<li>Conduct toolbox talks to ensure safe and effective operations<\/li>\n<li>Maintain technical specifications, standards, diagrams and operating procedures of process control equipment<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices<\/li>\n<li>Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment at the discretion of the superintendent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>N6\/ or diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering\/MCSE or similar IT qualification<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years industrial automation and automation related project experience<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years supervisory experience essential<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of Allan Bradley and Modicom PLC&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge of designated process control systems<\/li>\n<li>EB Licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RBM is an equal opportunity employer and preference will be given to candidates from the designated groups in line with the company policy on employment equity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong>CLOSING DATE: 19 MARCH 2010<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/riotinto.taleo.net\/careersection\/4\/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en\">Apply here<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rio Tinto is a leading international mining group headquartered in the UK.\u00a0Rio Tinto&#8217;s business is finding, mining and processing mineral resources.\u00a0Major products are aluminium, copper, diamonds, energy (coal and uranium),&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[72],"tags":[73],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
