Objectives<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Provide fire fighting services to operations and surrounding sites and perform required actions to mitigate and eliminate risks, where reasonably practicable, to maintain a safe working environment and the protection of people, property and assets<\/p>\n

Outputs<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Implement fire section policy, plans and procedures and the ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001, to attain compliance and achieve organisational goals
\n\u2022 Compile reports on the Disabling Injury Rate of the Fire section and implement corrective actions where appropriate, to reduce incidents and ensure a safe working environment on operations sites
\n\u2022 Liaise with shift managers in conducting mock emergency drills and training of fire teams, to reduce or eliminate risks of dangers to personnel and property
\n\u2022 Identify fire hazards, and introduce mitigating actions in conjunction with area managers, to maintain a safe working environment
\n\u2022 Provide rescue services (high angle, confined space, vehicle etc) to PetroSA and the surrounding community, to mitigate dangers and prevent loss of life and damage to property and assets
\n\u2022 Provide hazardous material response services, report for stand-by duty and act to stabilise emergency situations by providing primary healthcare services, to ensure that the lives and assets of people are protected and the hazardous situations mitigated
\n\u2022 Prepare for the annual shutdown by conducting all necessary and delegated activities regarding fire prevention and intervention, to maintain an optimal working environment during shutdown
\n\u2022 Contain cost to ensure that funds are optimally utilised in service delivery
\n\u2022 Contribute to the delivery of fire prevention training and education programmes to employees across operations to promote awareness and a safety responsive culture
\n\u2022 Provide advice, guidance and consultative expertise on fire and related aspects to operational sites, to promote compliance and a safety responsive culture
\n\u2022 Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan to ensure continued development<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/strong>
\n\u2022 NQF4 (Grade 12\/ Matric)
\n\u2022 Basic Ambulance Attendant Certificate, Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
\n\u2022 SAESI Fire Fighter 1 & 2 Certificate or equivalent
\n\u2022 Hazmat Awareness & Operations Certificate<\/p>\n

Experience<\/strong>
\n\u2022 1 – 3 years in an Industrial or Municipal Fire environment
\nOther
\n\u2022 Job Grade : PC 09<\/p>\n
