REQUIREMENTS : Matric Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational), Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social
\nWork; plus a minimum of 7 years appropriate experience in social work after
\nregistration as Social Worker with South African Council for Social Services
\nProfession (SACSSP). A valid driver\u2019s license Knowledge: Working knowledge of
\nthe Public Service; Knowledge of Policy Analysis and Development; Public
\nService Regulations; Labour Relations Act and relevant Regulations; Public
\nService Act; Interpretation of Statutes; Administrative Law; Research
\nMethodology; Financial Regulations and PFMA; Organization behavior analysis;
\nStrategic business management. Skills: Project Management; Planning and
\norganizing; Networking; Communication (written and verbal); Professional
\ncounseling; Policy analysis and development; Financial Management;
\nPresentation; Monitoring and evaluation; People management; and ability to
\ncompile complex reports.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Ensure that a social work service with regard to care, support, protection and
\ndevelopment of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through
\nthe relevant programmes is rendered. Attend to any other matters that could
\nresult in, or stem from, social instability in any form; Supervise and advise social
\nworkers and social auxiliary workers to ensure an effective social work service;
\nKeep up to date with new developments in the social work field, Supervise all
\nadministrative functions required in the unit and undertake the higher level
\nadministrative functions<\/p>\n
