REQUIREMENTS :<\/p>\n
Matric Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational), Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social
\nWork, Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Profession
\nas a Social Worker. Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of human
\nbehavior and social systems; The ability and competence to assist, develop,
\nadvocate for, and empower individuals, families, groups, organizations and
\ncommunities to enhance their functioning and their problem solving capabilities;
\nThe ability to promote, restore, maintain, advocate for, and enhance the
\nfunctioning of individuals, families, groups, and communities, by enabling them to
\naccomplish tasks, prevent and alleviate distress and use resources effectively;<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
DUTIES : Render social services with regard to care, support, protection, and development
\nof vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through the relevant
\nprogrammes; Support lower level employees such as social auxiliary workers
\nand volunteers; Keep up to date with new developments in the social work and
\nsocial welfare fields of probation services. Perform all the administrative functions
\nrequired of the job; It will be expected from Social Workers Grade 4 to mentor
\nand coach the Social Workers 1 to enable them to render an effective and
\nefficient social work services.<\/p>\n
