Kalahari.com builds and operates an ecommerce shop that powers multiple categories with a broad range of products and prices that are sold either for our own account or via our marketplace third party model.<\/p>\n
Our aim is to continue pioneering ecommerce in South Africa and Africa by providing the most relevant online solutions and buying experience available. As we thrive for fast growth our buying and merchandise teams are constantly improving the customer experience by aligning customer buying behaviour and demand with category range plans, promotions, price optimization, stock planning, improving the supply chain etc.<\/p>\n

Job description<\/strong> <\/p>\n Desired Skills and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n Keen interest in product preferably online retail
\nAnalyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future range and promotions
\nWorking closely with the category manager and junior category manager \/ planner to track sales to budget and plan range, stock levels and promotions accordingly
\nRegularly reviewing performance indicators, e.g. sales, costs and discount levels
\nManaging plans for stock levels
\nReacting to changes in demand
\nReacting to changes in logistics
\nMeeting suppliers and negotiating terms of contract
\nMaintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
\nLiaising with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed
\nWriting reports and forecasting sales levels
\nPresenting new ranges to senior retail managers
\nUsing dashboards and reports, the incumbent should be able to analyse and interpret data to improve business
\nThis is a contract role for 6 months.<\/p>\n
\nGood understanding of retail and online
\nA detailed approach to work
\nSound negotiation , organizing, interpersonal, communication skills
\nStrong affiliation to systems, utilizing them to increase productivity in line with the merchandise strategy
\nAbility to deal with suppliers
\nCompetency in all computer packages, i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
\nProven decision-making ability
\nAbility to work as part of a team
\nStrong business acumen and merchant thinking
\nAdvanced Excel Skills
\nPromptly identify any\/all deviations from merchandising standards and react accordingly
\nCollaborative nature\/ team player, but at the same time is a decision maker who can operate independently (within the parameters of the business)
\nStrong customer focus
\nSenior certificate
\nRelevant degree \/ diploma advantageous
\nAt least 1 year retail buying experience, in a consumer environment
\nSound knowledge of online and\/or retail environment and strong networks in the wholesale industry<\/p>\n
