We&#8217;re looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">As Communications Manager, you are a very strong writer who can process complex technology issues and explain them in clear language internally and externally. Based in Johannesburg, you will report to the Head of Communications for Israel, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, based in Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content offset\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<ul style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Manage Google&#8217;s day-to-day relationship with the media in South Africa.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Be proactive with reactive media relations.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Support the team in the execution of Google&#8217;s strategic external communications plan.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Work with the EMEA Communications and Public Affairs team to create and implement imaginative, focused PR campaigns to launch and promote Google products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"tagstory\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<div class=\"double\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<div class=\"detail-content offset\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<ul style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">BA\/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"double\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<div class=\"heading\" style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Preferred qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content offset\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<ul style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Extensive experience in communications (consumer, corporate or public affairs), as well as experience of the technology and\/or media sectors.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">A creative imagination capable of promoting new products in an exciting but practical way.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">The ability to think strategically and to learn quickly.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">A team approach to work, and the ability to work under pressure.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Strong attention to detail and a well organized, structured approach to work.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Outstanding written and oral presentation skills in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-item\" style=\"color: #222222;\">\n<div class=\"heading\" style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Area<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"detail-content offset\" style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">It&#8217;s our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders&#8211;and our own employees&#8211;about the benefits of Google&#8217;s products, our distinctive company culture\/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day.
