Primary Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n Reporting to <\/p>\n Skills
\n\uf0a7 Sampling and collection of samples from the different sampling locations and sampling points in accordance with sampling schedules and within the specified turn-around-time.
\n\uf0a7 To correctly record received samples on the appropriate documentation.
\n\uf0a7 Preparation of samples as per the correct procedures\/methods and in compliance with instructions from the direct superior.
\n\uf0a7 To ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection and preparation order.
\n\uf0a7 Keep direct superior informed regarding sampling and preparation progress and\/or non conformance.
\n\uf0a7 Submit all tally sheets after each and every job performed.
\n\uf0a7 Adhere to and maintain relevant parts the Quality Policies of the Division.
\n\uf0a7 Liaise with direct superior in ensuring efficient operations and optimum utilization of equipment.
\n\uf0a7 Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of Customer services policy and minimise client complaints and claims.
\n\uf0a7 Assist the direct superior with any tasks other than described above, whenever required.
\n\uf0a7 To ensure the integrity of samples is maintained at all times.
\n\uf0a7 Ensure that all procedures are followed.
\n\uf0a7 Assist in the disposal of excess material.(Discards samples)
\n\uf0a7 Ensure equipment is maintained and register is updated accordingly.
\n\uf0a7 Adhere to all reasonable instructions as assigned by direct line manager.
\n\uf0a7 Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.<\/p>\n
\nInspectors \/ Senior Sampler
\nSpecific responsibilities
\n\uf0a7 Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
\n\uf0a7 Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
\n\uf0a7 Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.
\nProfile
\nThe Operator is responsible for sampling, sample collection and sample preparation of the various commodities.<\/p>\n
\n5.1 Education
\n\uf0a7 Matric \/ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
\n\uf0a7 Proficiency in English.
\n\uf0a7 Basic calculation capability
\n5.2 Experience
\n\uf0a7 Previous Sampling and\/or preparation experience advantageous
\n5.3 Competencies
\n\uf0a7 Good communication and interpersonal skills
\n\uf0a7 Any other languages an added advantage<\/p>\n
