Key Purpose Statement<\/strong>
\nThe purpose of this program is to equip learners to understand and acquaint
\nthemselves with the underlying principles of all of the major areas related to
\ndistribution within the Wholesale & Retail sector, thus enabling them to become
\nmore effective employees. This Certificate provides learners with grounding in
\nall areas of Distribution. This may enable them not only to increase their productivity
\nwithin the Wholesale and Retail Sector but also to apply their learning
\nin various other business environments.<\/p>\n

\nMinimum Matric\/N3 certificate in Engineering with Maths and Science

Output and Accountabilities<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Reading, writing and verbal communication within the distribution\u00a0environment
\n\u2022 Rational and irrational numbers and number systems
\n\u2022 Receiving of stock into the wholesale or retail outlet\u2022 Maintaining stock balances
\n\u2022 Safe delivery of stock to customers
\n\u2022 Legal requirement and organisation policies and procedures for thetransportation of goods
\n\u2022 Administrative functions related to stock receipt and delivery
\n\u2022 The packing of stock in appropriately selected areas
\n\u2022 Picking of stock
\n\u2022 The financial impact of stock on the business
\n\u2022 Picking, packing and movement of stock in order to minimize damages
\n\u2022 Stock flow through the DC\/Warehouse
\n\u2022 The recording of stock movement on the stock management system
\n\u2022 Stock take procedures
\n\u2022 The wholesale & retail business environment
\n\u2022 Legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety and applicable safety procedures in the workplace
\n\u2022 Appropriate actions to be taken with regards to hazards and emergency situations
\n\u2022 Maintaining of Internal and external housekeeping standards
\n\u2022 Maintaining of Customer service and satisfaction levels<\/p>\n
