The role:<\/p>\n
This role has a 2.9.2 appointment in terms of the MHSA, Act of 1996: Maintain, install and commission engineering components of the machinery and equipment to an agreed standard in the area of responsibility<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Safe Achievement of production performance levels through the effective maintenance of equipment. Technical Work Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n Work is performed to ‘Zero Tolerance’ principles. <\/p>\n Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2 <\/p>\n Physical Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Certificate of Fitness <\/p>\n Additional Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n Anglo American Platinum shall apply the Employment Equity principles as set out in Anglo Platinum’s Employment Equity policy.
\nGood employee relations<\/p>\n
\nWork area is maintained to required housekeeping standards.
\nAll equipment complies with required specifications for safe operation.
\nAll safety devices are operational and in use.
\nDown time of units is minimized.
\nChecklists and inspections are up to date and accurate
\nAssessment of employee competency as required
\nInspections of completed work delegated and work in progress
\nMaintenance of machinery and equipment.
\nBe responsible for the proper discipline of subordinates.
\nReport any contraventions of the Minerals Act, MHSA, Regulations, codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions etc.
\nStop all unsafe activities, practices and machinery
\nAdhere to all legal requirements as per the Mines Health and safety Act of 1996 and the Minerals act and Regulations of 1991
\nInspecting of firefighting equipment
\nPerforming minor repairs on vehicles
\nManufacturing of items on lathe and milling machine
\nEquipment and machinery specific competence
\nPlanned task observations:
\nCutting torch license
\nFirst aid ticket<\/p>\n
\nCertified Competent as Fitter or Turner
\nEnglish literate (speak, read and write)
\nMust be able to do standby and overtime
\nMust be familiar with risk assessments procedures
\nValid driving license code 08
\nBasic Computer Skills<\/p>\n
