BHP Billiton recruits <strong>Specialist Business Improvement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hotazel Manganese Mines,<strong> <\/strong>based in the Kalahari we mine one of the largest manganese resources in the world.\u00a0 We offer a unique lifestyle choice with a family-friendly, secure environment and value our employees as our greatest asset.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ensuring compliance with the BHP Billiton commitment to Zero Harm, you will be in possession of the qualifications, skills and experience listed below:<\/em><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h6><strong> <\/strong><\/h6>\n<h2>JOB TITLE: SPECIALIST BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT<\/h2>\n<h6>Hotazel, Northern Cape<\/h6>\n<h5>Department: Business Improvement<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Role Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HMM has engaged in a transformation process which is called Manganese Improvement Process (MIP), which is implemented throughout the global manganese organisation.\u00a0 The purpose of the MIP is to put into place a standard business improvement process, with the objective of continuous improvement throughout HMM.<\/p>\n<p>The BI Specialist must enable the business to embed the Manganese Improvement Process into HMM and ensure that resources and services are focusing on the highest value improvement initiatives.\u00a0 The successful applicant will require strong transformational leadership qualities in order to support the transformation of HMM into this culture of improvement.<\/p>\n<p>The BI Specialist must have strong influencing, engaging and facilitation skills to enable business to embrace continuous improvement.\u00a0 The BI Specialist must engage and form an impact at all levels of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Engineering diploma or relevant degree<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Preferably 3 \u2013 5 years professional\/technical experience in a mining environment<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Having extensive operational experience with a good background and understanding of business improvement<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically strong Excel skills)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Six Sigma and Lean qualifications \/ experience are highly advantageous<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Develop and remain accountable for the Manganese Improvement Process Engagement Plan ensuring that best practice and commitment from all involved is recognized.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Prioritisation of Business Improvement Initiative using PPM (Project Portfolio Management)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Coach employees in maintaining best practice and facilitating them towards excellence<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Supporting BI teams in facilitating their Improvement Discussions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Supporting and facilitating synergies between multi departmental objectives<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Help facilitate alignment to best practice across business with capital spend<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Ensure alignment to best practice capital plans and that improvement capital aligns to improvement priorities<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Develop systems that support change initiatives to be managed locally by line management but maintain simplicity and standardisation between assets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Minimum 2 years Business Analysis experience<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Proficiency in MS Excel<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Process analysis and re-engineering experience<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Data analysis and operational knowledge<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Strong ability to work with multiple teams<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Creative and forward thinking<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Attention to detail<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Strong self motivation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Good communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Ability to work individually and in a team<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Ability to facilitates effective team interaction and to generate enthusiasm among team members<\/p>\n<p>Assessments may be one of the methods utilised to determine the successful candidate<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please forward your CV to: mailto: <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:hotazel.recruitment@bhpbilliton.com\"><strong>hotazel.recruitment@bhpbilliton.com<\/strong><\/a><strong>or fax to 0865366289.
