\nSALARY : R270 804 per annum

REQUIREMENTS : An NQF level 6 qualification in education, psychology, social science or another
\nrelevant field; At least 4 years\u2019 experience in a career development environment;
\nKnowledge of providing career advice; Experience of using social networking;
\nExperience in using ICTs in a high tech environment; Experience in using the
\nInternet and databases to source information; Understanding of labour market
\nissues in relation to employment, skills supply and demand for career guidance
\npurposes; Good communication skills, both written and oral; Motivational skills;
\nThe ability to coach, support and encourage individuals and groups; Interviewing;
\nAdvisory skills (telephone, written and face-to-face); Good knowledge of MS
\nOffice and related Software packages including the ability to efficiently capture
\ndata via a keyboard; Language skills and the ability to communicate well with
\npeople at different levels and from different backgrounds; Good people skills; A
\nvalid driver\u2019s license and the ability to travel is essential; Multi-lingual in official
\nSouth African languages would be an advantage; Professionalism (e.g. Integrity);
\nand Flexibility.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : To provide information\/advice and training to enable clients to take informed
\ndecisions on careers, qualifications and study opportunities. Provision of
\nrequested information and training in respect of careers, qualifications and study
\nopportunities; Monitor interaction and contribute to the maintenance of the
\ninformation base; Promote and disseminate career, qualifications and study
\nopportunities information; Support the capacitating of intermediaries and
\nstakeholders.

Note: The positions will be based in DHET Head Office, Pretoria to assist with the
\nmanagement and implementation of the Career Development Services project. All
\ncontract appointments are subject to satisfactory performance and a 6-month
\nprobationary period. The overall objects of the project are to support, coordinate
\nand guide the provision of a national Career Development Service through a
\nmass multi-channel educational campaign by radio, newspapers, exhibitions,
