\nREQUIREMENTS : BTech degree \/ National Diploma in Civil and Construction Engineering. Two to
\nthree years relevant experience. Valid drivers licence .Knowledge: Detailed OHS
\nand OHS Engineering disciplines, Relevant sections of COIDA as it relates to
\nIOD, Detailed legal requirements, particularly relating to enforcement ,
\nDepartmental Policies and procedures , Department directives and guidelines ,
\nBatho Pele principles , Statutory organizations that requires accreditation in
\nterms of OHSA, Applicable codes incorporated in terms of OHSA. Skills:
\nPlanning and Organising , Computer literacy , Mentoring and coaching,
\nCommunication , Telephone etiquette and public presentation, Report writing
\nincluding completion of written undertakings, Summons, forms and inspection
\nreports , Conflict resolution, Mediation and facilitation, Analytical, Investigation in
\nrespect of complaints, Accidents and fraud.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Plan and conduct substantive occupational inspections with the aim of ensuring
\ncompliance with labour legislation, namely OHSA. Plan and execute
\ninvestigations independently on reported incidents and complaints pertaining to
\ncontravention of OHS and enforce as and when necessary including making
\npreparations for and appearing in court as state witness. Plan and conduct
\nallocated proactive (including Blitz) inspections regularly to monitor compliance
\nwith OHSA including compilation and consolidation of reports emanating from
\nsuch inspections. Plan and conduct advocacy campaigns on all OHSA
\nindependently, analyse impact thereof, consolidate and compile report.
\nContribute at a higher level to planning, drafting and maintenance of regional
\ninspection plans and reports including execution of analysis and compilation of
\nconsolidated reports on allocated inspections, incidents and complaints. Assist
\nwith the induction and mentoring of new inspectors.<\/p>\n
