REQUIREMENTS : BTech degree \/ National Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
\nThree to five years relevant experience in Inspection and Enforcement
\nenvironment. Valid drivers licence .Knowledge: Detailed OHS and OHS
\nEngineering disciplines, Relevant sections of COIDA as it relates to IOD,
\nDetailed legal requirements, particularly relating to enforcement , Departmental
\nPolicies and procedures , Department directives and guidelines , Batho Pele
\nprinciples , Statutory organizations that requires accreditation in terms of OHSA,
\nApplicable codes incorporated in terms of OHSA. Skills: Planning and Organising
\n, Computer literacy , Mentoring and coaching, Communication , Telephone
\netiquette and public presentation , Report writing including completion of written
\nundertakings, Summons, forms and inspection reports , Conflict resolution,
\nMediation and facilitation, Analytical, Investigation in respect of complaints,
\nAccidents and fraud.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Plan and conduct substantive occupational inspections with the aim of ensuring
\ncompliance with all labour legislation, namely BCEA,LRA,EEA,UIA,COIDA,OHS
\nand UCA. Plan and execute investigations independently on reported incidents
\nand complaints pertaining to contravention of OHS and enforce as and when
\nnecessary including making preparations for and appearing in court as state
\nwitness. Plan and conduct allocated proactive (including Blitz) inspections
\nregularly to monitor compliance with OHSA including compilation and
\nconsolidation of reports emanating from such inspections. Plan and conduct
\nadvocacy campaigns on all OHSA independently, analyse impact thereof,
\nconsolidate and compile report. Contribute at a higher level to planning, drafting
\nand maintenance of regional inspection plans and reports including execution of
\nanalysis and compilation of consolidated reports on allocated inspections,
\nincidents and complaints. Assist with the induction and mentoring of new\u00a0inspectors.<\/p>\n
