REQUIREMENTS : Tertiary qualification in Mining\/Electrical\/Mechanical Engineering with at least three (3)
\nyear senior management experience PLUS Mine Manager’s Certificate of
\nCompetence(MMC)\/ Electrical\/Mechanical Engineering Government Certificate of
\nCompetence(GCC). PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge of: Mine
\nHealth and Safety Act and Regulations Health risk assessment techniques Mining
\nenvironment, both big and small, surface and underground, research and research
\nmethodology techniques Relevant Public Regulations Regional and mining sector
\nchallenges Guidelines issued by the Chief Inspector of Mine Management and
\nleadership Knowledge and application Advanced Project Management Skills:
\nManagement of people and Finance Report writing Inspecting and auditing Project and
\nProgramme Management Interpersonal and communication Advanced Project
\nManagement Communication Must be able to communicate at operational and
\nStrategic levels Creativity Must be innovative in thinking and approach.

DUTIES : KRA’s: Manage regions. Serve as nodal point for regions. Promote Mine health and
\nsafety. Oversee regional operations. Lead high level interventions (inspections,
\ninvestigations, inquiries etc). Manage mine health and safety risks (track and identify
\ntrends) ensure pro-active interventions<\/p>\n
