REQUIREMENTS : Equity Requirements: Coloured, Indian Male \/ Female candidates are encouraged to apply A relevant 3 year Degree \/ Diploma or an equivalent NQF level 6 qualification in Law, Public Administration, Social Science plus 1 year experience and\/or a Grade 12 Certificate with 3 years\u2019 experience in an immigration environment or Public Service Sector. Knowledge of the SOP\u2019s of\u00a0the migration control, patrol and inspection activity in a Port of Entry.<\/p>\n
Knowledge of the Immigration Act, understanding of all Acts and Regulations administered by the Department, Criminal Procedure Act , International treaties, Public Service Regulatory Framework and the South African Constitution. Liaison and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills. Customer orientation, planning and organizing skills. Client innovation and service delivery improvement orientation, within the context of legal frameworks.<\/p>\n
Data collation, analysis, trend identification and report writing skills. Proven business partnering and stakeholder engagement. Patriotic, honesty, integrity and interrogation skills. Strong analytical skills, computer literacy, good written and verbal communication skills, diplomacy. Supervisory experience. A valid driver\u2019s licence and willingness to travel.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks: Supervise the admission\/departure to\/from the Republic and ensure compliance with Immigration Act on entry and departure. Ensure that all travellers who contravened the validity of their permits are issued with prescribed administrative fines. Oversee the issuing of cross border permits to all eligible travellers in accordance with the Immigration Act.<\/p>\n
Ensure the effective issuing of emergency travel documents to eligible RSA citizens in accordance with SA Passport and Travel Documents Act. Ensure the effective determination of guarantees and deposits. Ensure effective processing of inadmissible or undesirable persons on arrival who are refused to enter the country.<\/p>\n
Ensure effective processing of prohibited persons on departure who are refused to leave the country. Ensure effective processing of castaways, stowaways and deserters. Issue penalties to airline that contravene the Immigration Act. Facilitate the prosecution of persons travelling with falsified South African documents. Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of resources and effectively supervise the work daily tasks.<\/p>\n
