REQUIREMENTS : A Degree in Social Science with Developmental Economics\/National Diploma in Development Studies\/Community Development\/Social and other related studies plus a minimum of 7 years\u2019 recognisable experience in Community Development after obtaining the required qualification \u2022 A certificate in Project Management will be an added advantage \u2022 A valid Code 08 (EB) driver\u2019s licence Competencies: \u2022 Strong theoretical understanding of, practical experience or exposure in community development issues \u2022 Knowledge of project management and financial management \u2022 Demonstrate knowledge of advocacy \u2022 Interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills \u2022 Problem-solving skills \u2022 People management and empowerment skills \u2022 Project management skills.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Key performance areas: \u2022 Supervise the identification, facilitation and implementation of integrated community development interventions in partnership with the community and other relevant stakeholders and assist employees engaged in this function by resolving problems \u2022 Supervise and support Community Development Practitioners to ensure that there is communication and coordination with all relevant role-players, internal and external (eg in departments\/provinces, NGOs, local community structures and faith-based organisations) and stakeholders to facilitate inter-sectoral collaboration, integrated planning and the establishment of partnerships to ensure sustainability of development activities within the community \u2022 Supervise and guide Community Development Practitioners to enhance their performance on community development and to perform administrative support on community development and related activities \u2022 Keep up to date with new developments in the community development field to enhance service delivery \u2022 Supervise and advise Community Development Practitioners to ensure an efficient and effective service.<\/p>\n
