{"id":19384,"date":"2014-10-03T00:12:08","date_gmt":"2014-10-02T22:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=19384"},"modified":"2014-10-03T00:12:08","modified_gmt":"2014-10-02T22:12:08","slug":"communications-officer-2-vacancies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/communications-officer-2-vacancies.html","title":{"rendered":"Communications Officer (2 Vacancies)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Western Cape Government Vacancies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo function within the Directorate: Communications as the communication focal point for a specific region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minimum educational qualification:<br \/>\nA Degree or Diploma in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><br \/>\nAppropriate experience.<\/p>\n<p>Inherent requirement of the job:<br \/>\nValid (Code B\/EB) driver&#8217;s licence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competencies (knowledge\/skills):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, well-developed writing and editing skills.<\/p>\n<p>Good time management skills.<\/p>\n<p>Creativity and artistic ability.<\/p>\n<p>Understanding of how the media works.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced computer literacy and design principles, techniques and tools.<\/p>\n<p>Operational management capability, analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Duties (key result areas\/outputs):<br \/>\nCompile research, co-ordinate, edit and produce communication material.<br \/>\nHandle all queries from the general public.<br \/>\nMedia liaison (handle media queries, writing of media releases, media monitoring and evaluation).<br \/>\nAdvertising and marketing.<br \/>\nCommunicate with all staff involved when there is a special event.<br \/>\nIdentify interesting and positive stories for the media.<\/p>\n<p>Enquiries: Mr D Francis, tel. no.
