Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
\nThe Merchandise Specialist is responsible for building a range that fulfils the needs of the local market. Through consumer and retail insights within the competitive brand environment, he\/she needs to create an industry leading area range and ensure that an adidas product range – that is competitive in terms of completeness, structure, price and margin \u2013 is delivered to the market. He\/She assumes full responsibilities for driving his\/her category and is recognised as the category expert.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Builds and selects a comprehensive and the most competitive range for the SA market and in the context thereof focusing also on the development of customer specific ranges<\/p>\n Compliments the Global range with locally produced articles.<\/p>\n Identify and develop key items and commercial lines that are price driven.<\/p>\n Presents the ranges internally (sales) and externally (customers)<\/p>\n Liaises and interacts closely with key accounts regarding range development, subsequent sell ins and post sell cooperation (for eg SMU developments)<\/p>\n Ongoing market visits and research to ensure being up to speed in retail and competitive environment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Key Relationships:<\/strong><\/p>\n Global GTM & BUs<\/p>\n Local Marketing & Sales<\/p>\n Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n Market experience in sport categories.<\/p>\n Consumer-focused with product and range understanding with an excellent understanding of balancing brand and commercial aspects to build channel specific GTM solutions.<\/p>\n Requisite Education and Experience \/ Minimum Qualifications:<\/p>\n University degree in Marketing\/business focus<\/p>\n Good numerical skills<\/p>\n Strong interpersonal skills<\/p>\n ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience Fluent in English (writing and verbal)<\/p>\n Excellent presentation skills<\/p>\n IT skills: Outlook and Word: Basic; Excel and PowerPoint: advanced<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
