Nedbank Group Limited<\/strong> operates as a bank holding company for Nedbank Limited and Imperial Bank Limited, which provide various wholesale and retail banking services in South Africa and internationally. It accepts current accounts, savings accounts, call and notice deposits, fixed deposits, cash management deposits, and negotiable certificates of deposit; and provides mortgages, installment credit, overdrafts, personal loans, and credit card borrowings to individuals, as well as to corporate, commercial, and public sectors.<\/p>\n Banking\u00a0Learnership<\/strong> What is a learnership?<\/strong> The Banking Skills Academy<\/strong><\/p>\n The Banking Skills Academy is a virtual academy which will, in time, host a number of Standard Bank specific learnership programmes aimed at unemployed youth; The current learnership on offer is at various entry level roles within The Bank, for which learners are required. These learners, if successful in their application, will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. They will be allocated to the bank\u2019s branches where they will be spending time applying their learning, when they are not formally or informally engaged in training activities. Upon successful completion they will obtain a recognized National Certificate (NQF Level 4). Eligibility requirements, candidates must be:<\/strong> Successful learners will be contacted during JANUARY 2011 to start in MAY 2011. Closing date for applications is 21 January 2011.
\nLearnership Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nA learnership is a structured training programme which provides the learner with both workplace and academic learning. This means that the learners are provided with opportunities to apply their learning in a real work situation throughout the learning programme. The learnership programme generally stretches over a year and leads to a nationally registered qualification.<\/p>\n
\nLearners are not paid a salary but will receive a learner allowance of R2, 500.00 per month for the duration of the learnership.<\/p>\n
\n1. South African citizens.
\n2. Be between the ages of 18-30.
\n3. Be able to speak, read and write English.
\n4. Have completed Matric\/Grade 12 with either subjects below:
\n4.1 Mathematics and\/or Accounting.
\n4.2 Maths Literacy.
\n5. Be computer literate.
\n6. Not be registered on any other learnership.
\n7. Not permanently employed.
\n8. Not registered at any tertiary institution.<\/p>\n
\nCandidates will be required to complete relevant assessments.<\/strong><\/p>\n
