\nHealth and Safety Act and Regulations and Skills: Ability to interpret and apply
\nMine Health and Safety Act, High level of management skills. Ability to identify
\nreal problems on accidents Investigations. Conflict resolution skills. Negotiation
\nskills. Planning and organising skills. Budget control. Report writing and
\nformulation Computer literacy Communication: Ability to communicate verbally
\nand in writing at all levels, to mine officials and public on the Mine Health and
\nSafety Act as well as matters regarding types of Mine equipments used in the
\nmining industry, Exemptions, permissions and proposed legislation, Creativity:
\nAbility to analyse workload and work-related problems and draft and implement a
\nstrategy to ensure Improvement. Innovative and creative thinking abilities. Ability
\nto work under pressure.<\/p>\n
\n1996. Investigate Mine Related accidents, contraventions and complaints as well
\nas Analyse mine accidents and trends to determine high risk mines and take
\nappropriate actions. Conduct shafts, surface and underground audits and
\ninspections on occupational Hygiene matters at mines and give appropriate
\nverbal or written instructions. Investigate, consult and make recommendation to
\nother departments on closure Certificates, prospecting rights, mining rights and
\npermits, EMPs and township developments. Give support and assistance in the
\npromotion of health and safety in the mining industry. Compile regional reports
\nand give inputs to head office on the revision of Occupational hygiene related
\nregulations, drafting of guidelines and standard Directives, instructions,
\nexemptions and permission.<\/p>\n
\nNOTE : Appointment will be subject to pre-medical examination of fitness and candidate
\nmust be in possession of a valid driver\u2019s licence.<\/p>\n
