It is aimed at unemployed youth in the technical trade industry with no work experience and those in the technical trade industry with work ex<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The National Youth Service Programme aims to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Create an enabling environment for participants to develop their skills.<\/p>\n<p>Provide training and management support to participants.<\/p>\n<p>Assess performance.<\/p>\n<p>Be inclusive of all gender or geographical locations and be linked to community service, internships and career-oriented studies.perience but no<\/p>\n<p>trade certification.<\/p>\n<p>The NYS Programme aims to impart skills, understanding and an aspiration for working in the built environment. The construction trade<\/p>\n<p>training needs have therefore been identified through the following areas:<\/p>\n<p>Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Masonry and Plastering.<\/p>\n<p>Electrical Wiring.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Plumbing.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Tiling.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Painting.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Carpentry.<\/p>\n<p>Road Works.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Floor Covering.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Welding.<\/p>\n<p>Construction Plant Operator.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A valid Identity Document (ID).<\/p>\n<p>Between the ages of 18-35 years.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent (RPL).<\/p>\n<p>Must reside in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n<p>Must attend the compulsory briefing session.<\/p>\n<p>Must be willing to enter into a one year National Youth Service Programme that will include youth development activities, technical and on-the-<\/p>\n<p>job practical training.<\/p>\n<p>Past experience in a construction industry trade, such as bricklaying, plumbing, plastering, carpentry, etc. will be beneficial.<\/p>\n<p>Persons with a disability who meet the above criteria may apply.<\/p>\n<p>A strict selection process takes place paying particular attention to the development of youth, women, persons with disabilities and youth in conflict with the law.
