They currently seeking a qualified Intern in Communication.<\/p>\n<p>Required by: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2014<br \/>\nStarting Date: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2014<br \/>\nDepartment: DNA (Advocacy) Unit<br \/>\nSection: Research and operational support<br \/>\nType of position: Intern, unpaid, Stipend provided<br \/>\nMinimum Time Commitment: 35 hrs\/week<br \/>\nDuration: November and December 2014, with a possible extension first months 2015<\/p>\n<p>Location: Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>Doctors Without Borders (MSF), an international humanitarian medical aid organisation, created in 1971 as a response to an humanitarian crisis in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The SA office, established in 2007, supports MSF programmes in the region and elsewhere by providing medical expertise, recruiting medical and other professionals.<\/p>\n<p>MSF in Johannesburg also speaks out about medical and humanitarian crises faced by vulnerable communities by sharing information with the South African public, the media, government agencies, and other non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The communications intern will support a research project which gathers and analyzes the experiences of MSF staff around the world.<\/p>\n<p>S\/he will have the opportunity, through working in the office, to learn about MSF&#8217;s international programmes and provision of medical humanitarian aid worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>S\/he will learn how an organization as MSF operates in complex and often dangerous contexts.<\/p>\n<p>This internship is ideal for anyone considering a career in humanitarian aid, communications, translation, journalism, research or advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Duties:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Writing out interviews with MSF staff<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist in the translation of documents from French to English and vice-versa<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Additional duties can be added after discussion<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Required Skills:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Excellent knowledge of French and good knowledge of English<br \/>\n\u2022 Higher education degree or study in communication, translation, political science or international relations<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, word)<br \/>\n\u2022 Genuine commitment to the principles and work of MSF<br \/>\n\u2022 Accurate working skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to handle confidential information with discretion<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Desirable skills:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Strong organisational skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience taking interviews or writing out interviews<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in this position, please forward your CV to <a href=\"mailto:dimitri.eynikel@msf.joburg.org\">dimitri.eynikel@msf.joburg.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please also include a short covering letter motivating your reasons for applying for the position.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline: 25 October 2014<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msf.org.za\/msf-job-application\/french-and-english-communications-intern\" target=\"_new\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Click Here to Apply for French and English Communications Intern<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you heard of MSF?
