REQUIREMENTS : A recognised, appropriate professional qualification plus registration as a
\nProfessional with the relevant Councils\/Associations. The following will serve as
\nrecommendations: Project and Financial Management skills. Knowledge of
\ncontract documentation and administration. Knowledge of relevant
\nacts\/regulations\/ordinances. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good
\ninterpersonal skills. Computer literacy (MS Office). Good report writing skills. A
\nvalid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : The professional will work closely with and report to the relevant General
\nManager in the Department in assisting her\/him to undertake the projects as
\ncontained in the Department\u2019s Annual Performance Plan. This will generally
\ninclude the following: (a)Provide assistance during project formulation stage
\n(b)Prepare detailed briefs for the appointment of other consultants, if required
\nConvene and preside over regular meetings of a project team comprising
\nrepresentatives of different authorities and\/or their consultants for the purposes
\nof planning and reporting on progress with the project (c)Monitor project quality
\nand progress to ensure achievement of standards and set targets within budget
\n(d) Assist in determining\/developing relevant policies, standards and
\nspecifications (e)Undertake on-site investigations and related administration
\n(f)Liaise and consult with the public and relevant departments within national,
\nprovincial and local government (g)Process and certify all claims by members of
\nthe professional team before submitting to the Department for settlement, Identify
\nand provide details of new projects to be included in the Departments 5 Year
\nStrategic Plan (h) Training of in-house staff and mentoring of staff towards
\nprofessional registration.
