The Marketing Manager contributes to the organisational goals through the application of various marketing techniques as well as effective management of the company\u2019s marketing resources, to build brand equity that leads to customer engagement, acquisition and retention, which in turn contribute to the overall Group profit
\nLead the development of a brand strategy that will support the business objectives.
\nThis will be done in conjunction with key internal stakeholders as well as external agencies.
\nDevelops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the growth and expansion of company products and\/or services
\nResearches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
\nPlans and oversees the brand’s advertising and promotion activities including tv, radio, print, outdoor, digital, direct mail, events, activations and partnerships.
\nManages external advertising agencies to drive the specified marketing initiatives. – This includes the briefing of the agencies on campaigns and taking the activities all the way through to approving of final go-to-market creative. Actively managing the agency\u2019s performance and fee structures through a formalised and structured process is key to the Marketing Manager\u2019s outputs.
\nAchieves satisfactory profit\/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.
\nWork closely with the Media Planners and Buyers to ensure the correct target market is penetrated as well as ensuring that the marketing activities \/ performance is tracked and measured.
\nWorks with internal writers and artists to brief and approve copywriting, design, layout, and production of promotional materials.
\nEnsures effective control of marketing results, and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.
\nEvaluates market reactions to advertising programs to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
\nPrepares marketing activity reports.
\nManages and controls the marketing budget.
\nActively seeks new and innovative ways to make the brand stand out amongst the general brand clutter by conceptualising radical new ideas in leveraging traditional media, digital media, partnerships, events and other.
\nPresents on an ogoing basis strategies, marketing plans, marketing performance, to various forums in the organisation.
\nResponsible for all aspects of staff resourcing, succession planning, management and development ensuring the right people are in place to support service delivery, achieving production and performance targets at all times.<\/p>\n
Level of Education: Essential: \u2022 Grade 12 (Standard 10) with University Entrance (NQF4) \u2022 Relevant Bachelor Degree or equivalent Desirable:
\nRelevant Post Graduate qualification, preferably a MBA Experience: Essential:
\nAt least 5 years\u2019 experience in a senior management position
\nProven track record of successful marketing implementation and launches
\nAt least 5-7 years\u2019 experience in managing a marketing\/brand team
\nExposure to all forms of media channels e.g. television, print, radio, outdoor, digital, direct marketing
\nProven track record of managing external providers Desirable:
