We mine one of the largest manganese resources in the world.\u00a0 We offer a unique lifestyle choice with a family-friendly, secure environment and value our employees as our greatest asset.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>JOB TITLE: MINE MANAGER<\/h3>\n<h6>Hotazel, Northern Cape<\/h6>\n<h6>DEPARTMENT:\u00a0 Hotazel Manganese Mines<strong> <\/strong>(HMM)<strong> <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The management of all activities associated with a mine manager role and the legal requirements thereof as applicable in the role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Managing all functions at the mine in line with BHP Billiton Standards in order to ensure that the correct quality and quantity ore is produced at the lowest possible cost. This is done through effective optimization of employees, equipment and systems, ensuring full compliance to all applicable legislation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>\u2022\u00a0 Applicable Tertiary Mining Qualification and Post Graduate Business Qualification<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 At least \u00b110 years relevant experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 A Mine Managers certificate of Competency<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Knowledge of MS Packages and SAP will be advantageous.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Medically fit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Develop and implement strategies and action plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Plan strategically to improve business performance<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Assists with long-term strategic plans<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Manage mining operations and processes<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Integrate the Life Off Asset plan into the Medium Term Plan<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Assess Medium Term Planning Risks<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Manage Business Improvement processes<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Conduct regular Results and Progress Management meetings<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Build and maintain a competent and motivated work force<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Compile Mining Reports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>The successful candidate will be required to possess the following skills\/ competencies:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Knowledge of general Mining practices<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Technical Report Writing Skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Cross Function Awareness<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Good Presentation Skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Customer Care Skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Vision<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Feedback and Recognition<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Accountability<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Judgement<\/p>\n<p>Please forward your CV (max 7 &#8211; 10 pages) to: <strong>marlene.wepener@bhpbilliton.com<\/strong> or fax to\u00a0<strong>0865366289<\/strong>.
