Are you a 2014 matriculant based in the Western Cape? Interested to gain work experience in the public service? Then look no further!<\/p>\n<p>Apply for our Premier&#8217;s Advancement of Youth (PAY) programme and we can make gaining work experience in the Public Service Better Together.<\/p>\n<p>The PAY project will provide 750 Matrics from the class of 2014 with work and training beginning 7 April 2015 until 31 March 2016.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Is This You?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have written and passed the National Senior Certificate (NSC) in 2014 in the Western Cape.<\/li>\n<li>You are not going to study further in 2015.<\/li>\n<li>You are a South African citizen, residing in the Western Cape.<\/li>\n<li>You have no network or support to help you make career choices.<\/li>\n<li>You are not sure of the next step after school.<\/li>\n<li>You are financially constrained.<\/li>\n<li>You are between the ages of 18 and 24.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your answer is \u201cyes\u201d to all of the above, the PAY project is for you!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On-the-job Training Will be Provided in the Following Departments<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Department of the Premier<\/li>\n<li>Department of Agriculture<\/li>\n<li>Department of Community Safety<\/li>\n<li>Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport<\/li>\n<li>Department of Economic Development and Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Department of Environmental Affairs &amp; Development Planning<\/li>\n<li>Department of Health<\/li>\n<li>Department of Human Settlements<\/li>\n<li>Department of Local Government<\/li>\n<li>Department of Social Development<\/li>\n<li>Department of Transport and Public Works<\/li>\n<li>Provincial Treasury<\/li>\n<li>The Western Cape Education Department (WCED)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What Will You Achieve?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work experience in the public sector.<\/li>\n<li>Contactable references for your brand new CV.<\/li>\n<li>A set of skills and experiences that will make you more marketable and employable.<\/li>\n<li>A year in which to make informed career choices together with a network to back it up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make it Happen<\/p>\n<p>Applications open on Wednesday, 7 January 2015.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, go to http:\/\/www.westerncape.gov.za\/jobs and complete the online application form.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to attach a copy of your official Matric results to your online application.<\/p>\n<p>You will be asked to write a brief statement about yourself regarding your:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Key skills and abilities<br \/>\n&#8211; Key achievements and experiences<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Career objectives<\/p>\n<p>Closing Date for applications: Friday, 30 January 2015<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Application Tips<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not have an e-mail address, create one immediately.
