ICT TECHNICIAN (REFERENCE NO 229 \/2014)

REQUIREMENTS : A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in offering technical support services in a corporate environment. General IT knowledge especially on the Windows Microsoft environment. Knowledge of transversal systems will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for the following IT and related functions: Diagnose and resolve software and hardware problems; Assist staff with IT related problems; Track, prioritize and document requests using an IT support request system; Install and configure new computers and other IT equipment; Repair and upgrade different types of computers (software and hardware);<\/p>\n
Identify problems and repair all IT equipment; Provide Windows server administration and support; Management of backup management solution and testing of the restore data; Maintain the information security policies and related standards; Conduct impact assessment for the IT infrastructure changes and document changes;<\/p>\n
Ensure that all calls logged are resolved within the required time as per department\u2019s ICT service standards; Management of service providers through Servile Level Agreements; Support of transversal systems; Ensure adherence to ICT policies and monitoring of all security risks and mitigation thereof; Keep abreast of technical developments and trends in information security, systems and related areas through research in order to align with the department\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n
