REQUIREMENTS : SANC registration receipt for 2015 as General Nurse and Midwife, Must be in
\npossession of a Diploma\/ Degree in General Nursing Science, Minimum of seven
\nyears appropriate\/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a
\nProfessional Nurse. Minimum experience of three years as a shift leader of a
\ndynamic team, strong leadership skills, be able to work independently, well
\norganized, conflict management skills and be able to work under pressure. The
\ncandidate should be self-motivated and would like to build a care giving
\nrelationship with a dynamic group of staff and patients. Be available at all times in
\ncase of emergencies or shortage of staff. Good communication skills.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Overall supervision of staff in the unit. Ensure the formulation and availability of
\nstandards and policies in the department. Provide a quality good directed
\nservices which is cost effective. Ensure the availability and maintenance of
\nfacilities, equipment and resources required for safe and effective practices.
\nProvide in-service and continuing education programs to all levels of staff.
\nAllocation of personnel according to acuity level in the departments. Effective\u00a0monitoring and management of absenteeism. Maintain infection
\ncontrol\/occupational health and safety principles to ensure a safe environment for
\npatients and staff. Facilitate the implementation of disciplinary team. Accountable
\nfor all nursing activities in the unit. Enhance research in the unit.<\/p>\n
