REQUIREMENTS : An LLB or 4 years recognized legal qualification; Admission as an Attorney; The
\nright of appearance in the High Court of South Africa; At least 4 years
\nappropriate post qualification legal\/litigation experience; A valid driver\u2019s license.
\nSkills and Competencies: Computer literacy; Legal research and drafting;
\nDispute resolution; Case flow management; Communication (written and verbal)
\nskills; Accuracy and attention to detail.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Represent the State in Litigation and Appeal in the
\nHigh Court, Magistrates Court, Labour Court, Land Claims, CCMA, Tax and Tax
\ntribunals; Furnish legal advice\/opinions and contracts; Give effect to the
\nDepartments strategic plan, policies and prescripts; Draft and\/or settle all types
\nof arrangements on behalf of various clients; Provide supervision and training to
\nother professional staff; Maintain all records of work performed and provide
\nstatistics; Deal with all forms of arbitration, including inter-departmental
\narbitration, register trust and debt collection; Provide coveyancing and notarial\u00a0services.<\/p>\n
