Planning \/ Engineering and facilitation of the implementation and commissioning of the Cell C Transport & Access Transmission Network.<\/p><\/div>\n
1.Transmission Network Design\/Engineering
\n\u2022Planning \/ Engineering of the Cell C Transmission Network, Microwave as well as Fiber Optic, covering (but not limited to) technologies such as SDH, DWDM, IP\/MPLS and other optic fiber line systems.
\n\u2022Plan, configure and commission the transport network infrastructure according to agreed network configuration guidelines.
\n\u2022Ensure transport network reliability with correct infrastructure commissioning practices.
\n\u2022Ensure transmission access strategy is implemented correctly.
\n\u2022Ensure Access network strategy is implemented correctly.
\n\u2022Identify and communicate deficiencies on transport network architecture.
\n\u2022Plan and co-ordinate Transmission projects.
\n\u2022Handover of Transport Network to Manage Services \/ Operations
\n\u2022Maintain network strategy on Access layers.
\n\u2022Ensure network rollout performance targets are met.
\n2.Project Implementation and Management
\n\u2022Keep a track on the customer schedule and flag timelines for specific activities
\n\u2022Identify problem areas and propose possible solutions.
\n\u2022Co-ordinate activities between Vendors and Cell C regions to rectify problem areas.
\n\u2022Drive to meet the time lines set for the project.
\n\u2022Liaise and co-ordinate with all equipment suppliers
\n\u2022Liaise with various Business Units for business requirements for design\/forecasting\/strategy.
\n3.Report Generation.
\n\u2022Generate reports on transmission network architecture.
\n\u2022Ensure all activities are accurately and timeously recorded.
\n\u2022Ensure all recording of performance data are accurately done.
\n\u2022Compile weekly and monthly reports on all activities as well as monthly reports detailing the utilisation and incurring costs for transmission infrastructure including links.
\n4.Perform any other related duties as requested by Management.<\/p><\/div>\n
\u20225 – 6 years as a Transmission engineer in a carrier \/Telco environment\/ Mobile environment
\n\u2022Thorough understanding of interface specifications and protocols used in the Telecommunication\/Carrier environment (DWDM, SDH, PDH, ATM, ISDN, GSM, WCDMA, SS7, VoIP, IP\/MPLS, Ethernet microwave).
\n\u2022Thorough understanding of transmission networks, transmission equipment, different types of transmissions and their limitations
\n\u2022Through understanding of self provisioning methods in networks
\n\u2022Basic fault finding on transmission networks (must have the ability to use test equipment)
\n\u2022Good knowledge of Mobile switching and Data networks.
\n\u2022Good knowledge of regulatory procedures applicable to transmission.
\n\u2022Good knowledge of IP\/MPLS networks and TCP\/IP.
\n\u2022Experience in installation and maintenance of transmission network elements (including but not limited to; wiring of DDF\u2019s, termination of fibre optic lines & installation of microwave systems)<\/p><\/div>\n
