\nREQUIREMENTS : An honours degree in mathematics, financial mathematics. econometrics,
\nengineering or energy studies. 3-5 years\u2019 experience in modelling applied in realworld
\nsituation. PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge of: Policies
\nand legislations which govern the energy sector. Knowledge of the energy sector
\nwith specific understanding of upstream oil, gas, nuclear and coal supply
\nmarkets. Renewable energy markets. Local and global trends and economic
\ndrivers which impact on supply options for energy. Supply optimization and
\nmodelling techniques and knowledge of different energy technologies Skills:
\nEnergy modelling Mathematical and econometric modelling. Technical report
\nwriting. Translation of concept into mathematical or analytical models. Policy
\nanalysis, Communication: Ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to liaise with
\nstakeholders. Tactical and attention to details. Ability to work well under pressure
\nand independently as well as within a team. Good interpersonal relations and
\nrespective and Responsive to ideas. Creativity: Assertive. Analytical, self-driven

DUTIES : Conduct analyses of various energy supply options. Maintain energy supply
\noptimisation models. Conduct secondary research on existing and potential
\nenergy supply options to inform the energy planning process. Analyse impacts of
\nenergy policies and other sectoral policies related to energy supply on the current
\nfuture energy system structure and costs Analyse and interpret model outputs to
\ninform\/advise on policy formulation and energy planning. Continually evaluate
\ndifferent energy modelling tools available locally and internationally and adopt
\nbest-practice modelling methodologies. Interact with different stakeholders
\n(government, state-owned entities, and technical experts).
