CHIEF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER GRADE A. (SENIOR
\nPROJECT MANAGER) 2 POSTS REF NO: 2015\/16
\nSALARY : All inclusive salary package of R756 999 per annum
\nCENTRE : Bloemfontein Regional Office
\nREQUIREMENTS : A National Higher diploma in the built environment field with a minimum of six
\nyears experience as a Registered Professional Construction Project Manager.<\/p>\n
with the SACPCMP OR B.Tech degree in the built environment field with a
\nminimum of six years experience as a Registered Professional Construction
\nProject Manager with the SACPCMP OR Honours degree in any built
\nenvironment field with a minimum of six years experience as a Registered
\nProfessional Construction Project Manager with the SACPCMP. A valid driver\u2019s
\nlicence. Compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional
\nConstruction Manager upon appointment. Knowledge of programme and project
\nmanagement as well as project design and analysis. Knowledge of legal and
\noperational compliance as well as the creation of a high performance culture.
\nCandidates must have communication, problem-solving and analysis, decision
\nmaking and conflict management skills.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Monitor the performance of project managers under his\/her supervision. Mentor,
\ndevelop and offer technical support to improve their performance. Manage
\nConstruction Projects on his\/her own, ranging from large scale capital projects,
\nmaintenance projects and service contracts. Ensure that the needs of the Clients
\nare well interpreted into and manageable scopes of work. Procure the services of
\nbuilt environment Professionals through stipulated supply chain management
\nprocesses .Co-ordinate the work of various Professionals to ensure the required
\ndesign and documentation quality as well as delivery in accordance to project
\nexecution plans.Co-ordinate all internal resources required to ensure the bidding
\nprocess for appointment of Contractors. Ensure that appointed Consultants
\nmanage the quality of work within their professional scope and responsibility.
\nEnsure that Contractors timeously receive all relevant specifications and details
\nto construct. Adjudicate all applications of variation orders and extensions of time
\nas well as make recommendations to the approving authority within the
\nDepartment. Process all interim monthly payments as per the conditions of
\ncontract and in line with Government\u2019s commitment to pay invoices timeously.
\nPrepare and submit project information is filed to the Head of Directorate. Secure
\nall required funding for the projects through internal set processes. Ensure that
\nproject information is filed appropriately for easy access during audit. Cultivate a
\nculture a culture of good working relationships with fellow colleagues within the
\nDepartment.<\/p>\n
