REQUIREMENTS : Applicants must be in a possession of a National Diploma\/Degree in Security
\nManagement\/Social Sciences\/Criminal Justice and intensive relevant working
\nexperience. SSA Security Advisors course will be an added advantage.
\nKnowledge of SSA environment will be an added advantage. Familiarity with the
\nMinimum Information Security Standards, OHSA, Protection of Information act,
\nAccess to public Premises and Vehicles Act, Promotion of Access to Information
\nAct, National Archives Act, IT, National Vetting Policies and familiarity with, but
\nideally formal training, in the practice and principles on the execution of general
\nsecurity and security project management. Recommendations: Ability to work
\nindependently, analyse problem areas and to initiate corrective measures.
\nExperience in policy development. Valid driver\u2019s licence and willing to travel on
\nregular basis. Good communication skills at all level. Good writing and analytical
\nskills regarding the submissions and briefing notes. The ability to do presentation
\non security matters. Project management skills.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Assist in the management of the total security function of the Region (personnel,
\ndocument, communication, physical, computer security, contingency planning
\nand security awareness). The implementation of the departmental security policy
\nand the development of procedural guidelines in the Region. The evaluation and
\noptimization of the implementation of appropriate security measures and
\nprocedures with the assistance of Head Office. The development and
\nimplementation of training and awareness programmes with the assistance of
\nHead Office. The interaction with security-related and relevant authorities i.e.
\nSSA Agency, South African Police Services, Comsec. Management of the
\ncapacity of Security Management, with the assistance of the Head Office and
\nSSA provincial office.
