\nSALARY : R270 804-R 327 126 per annum (Salary level 9). The successful candidate will
\nbe required to sign a performance agreement.

REQUIREMENTS : Relevant Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent qualification in law or law enforcement,
\na minimum of three (3) years\u2019 experience in the Criminal Justice System.
\nCriminal investigation experience relating to specialised investigations
\n(corruption, racketeering and money laundering, surveillance and covert
\ninformation gathering, forensic investigations, cybercrime investigations, witness
\nprotection) will serve as an added advantage. Experience and training in Special
\nWeapons and Tactics will be a strong recommendation. Thorough knowledge and
\nunderstanding of criminal law and Criminal Procedure Act and other applicable
\nlegislation, knowledge of human rights and government\u2019s broad transformation
\nobjectives and initiatives are essential, Project Management skills and knowledge
\nof investigative system and procedures, a valid driver\u2019s license is essential, ability
\nto work under pressure. Should have undergone firearm competency training and
\nshould be willing to carry an official firearm if needed\/required\/requested. Should
\nbe available on short notice to perform duties, should be willing to travel on short
\nnotice. Sound knowledge in compliance practices and prescripts. Familiarity with
\ncriminal investigation processes.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : Undertake supervise specialized investigations (investigative projects) that might
\nrequire the official to be away from office for extended periods. Make criminal
\nrecommendations to the Director of Public Prosecution and SAPS\/MPS based on
\nthe outcome of investigation. Be responsible to the safeguarding and protection of
\nwitnesses and investigators where necessary.
