REQUIREMENTS : B.Com \/ B.Compt degree with articles. B.Com honors, CTA or CA will be an
\nadvantage. The successful incumbent should possess 8 years experience in an
\nAccounting environment of which 3 years relevant experience as a manager.
\nPrevious Management Accounting experience will be an advantage. ACCPAC,
\nProject accounting and Persal knowledge will be an advantage. Advanced
\nfinancial, accounting and reporting skills. Understanding of business imperatives
\naround financial management. Analytical. Attention to detail. Results orientated.
\nDeadline driven. Decisive and objective judgement. Proven problem solving
\nability. Ability to prioritise urgent matters. Self-motivated. Confidentiality.
\nContinuous improvement and quality orientation. Good interpersonal relations.

DUTIES : The project accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of
\nprojects, investigating variances, approving expenses, ensuring that project
\nbillings are issued to customers and payments collected, the classification of cost
\non projects and budgeting for projects. The incumbent will ensure Project
\nAccounting system produces accurate results timeously and will produce
\nperiodical Management reports, as well as provide value-financial services to all
\nthe business units of GPAA. The primary responsibilities of these positions
\ninclude, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare the budget for the
\nmodernization project. Maintain project related records including contracts and
\nchange orders. Create project accounts in the accounting system and authorize
\naccess to these accounts. Monitor the progress of projects in the Finance
\nSection. Maintain accuracy in cash expenditure data and ensure that controls are
\nfollowed. Provide information about internal distribution of finance information by
\ninterpreting the data. Review and approve supplier invoices related to projects.
\nInvestigate project variances and submit variance report to management. Assist
\nproject managers with monthly or quarterly forecast and annual budget analysis.
\nCompile information relating to projects for internal and external auditors. Prepare
\nad-hoc reports as required by the project management or the Finance Section
