REQUIREMENTS : A 3 year Diploma\/Degree in Law\/Social Science\/Policing or a relevant NQF level
\n6 qualification in the related field with 2-3 years\u2019 relevant experience and\/or a
\nGrade 12 qualification and 3 years\u2019 relevant experience in an Enforcement
\nenvironment. A minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in the Public Sector, Knowledge
\nand understanding of all Acts and Regulations administered by the Department,
\nKnowledge and understanding of the Criminal Procedure Act, International
\nTreaties, Public Service Regulatory Framework and the South African
\nConstitution. Liaison and Interpersonal skills, customer orientation, problem
\nsolving skills, strong investigative and analytical skills. Planning and organizing
\nskills, computer literacy, good verbal and written communication skills. Expected
\nto work irregular hours and under pressure. A valid driver\u2019s licence and
\nwillingness to travel and work irregular hours. The successful candidate will
\nundergo 6 to 8 weeks training which will include an unarmed combat module.
\nMilitary, Police or Prosecution experience will serve as an added advantage.<\/p>\n

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following
\nspecific tasks: Supervising Inspectorate activities in the relevant local office by
\nensuring effective tracing, detection, detention and deportation of illegal
\nimmigrants. Investigate higher profile illegal migration activities in the office that
\ninvolves amongst others smuggling of migrants, human trafficking and illegal
\nmass production of enabling documentation such as birth certificates, travel
\ndocuments, permits, VISAS, Identity Documents and theft of face value
\ndocuments. Interview informants, suspects and witnesses. Coordinate
\ninvestigation efforts, follow up tasks and provide information to analysts to identify
\npatterns, series and trends as quick as possible. Prepare necessary investigative
\nreports and documentation for court cases. Appear and testify in official
\nproceedings. Keep records and background information on criminals. The
\ninvestigators must frequently interact on a professional basis with other law
\nenforcement officials and state prosecutors. Assume a high degree of
\naccountability for delivering the highest quality on immigration crime investigated.
\nMaintain in a state of readiness all technical equipment assigned vehicles.
\nPerform other duties as assigned and required. Must accept scheduled after
\nhours stand by duty every week . Whilst on standby, must be readily available at
\nall times at any hour of the day or night to attend to requests for services on call.<\/p>\n
