Rand Water has responded to the mandate to train and develop unemployed youth across various municipalities across the country and equip them with skills across three (3) disciplines i.e. Plumbing, Artisans, and Water Agents.<\/p>\n

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has initiated the War on Leaks project through Rand Water as an implementing agent.<\/p>\n

This Presidential Project is one of a number of initiatives aimed at confronting the water loss issue across the country.<\/p>\n

For the Phase 1 2015\/2016 intake, Rand Water is looking for 3000 young, energetic and results-driven youth for development.<\/p>\n

The individual must be a team player who is customer focused and has an ability to communicate well at all levels<\/p>\n

Primary project objectives:<\/span><\/p>\n

To decrease water leaks (water losses minimisation) by providing relevant technical skills<\/p>\n

To improve overall water use efficiency within municipalities, households and communities<\/p>\n

To organise and provide training to local communities<\/p>\n

To raise awareness and engender an appreciation by communities of water use, water conservation and the impact on the environment.<\/p>\n

During the training, trainees will be expected to successfully demonstrate knowledge and skills according to the outcomes of the training programmes.<\/p>\n

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and unemployed youth in the following disciplines with the listed requirements:<\/p>\n
