Reporting to the Manager, you will fulfill the necessary requirements within the SKD Engineering Department to meet the Company\u2019s objectives:<\/p>\n
Key Job Functions <\/strong><\/p>\n Safety \u2013 Ensure compliance to company SHE standards for new facilities, equipment, tooling & systems Qualifications and Experience <\/strong><\/p>\n B.Sc or B Tech Degree (NQF 6 360 credits) in Mechanical Engineering or
\nCondition Monitoring \u2013 must be able to monitor the condition of equipment & machinery, implement and conduct pro-active troubleshooting methods.
\nImplement activities for the reduction of engineering related defects \u2013 must be able to initiate root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrences and improvements.
\nProject Management \u2013 Manage and lead new Projects from planning stage through to implementation and handover to Production
\nCosting and Planning \u2013 Must be able to monitor cost and introduce necessary cost reduction activities. Must also be able to accurately establish costing for input into product brief reply for budget approval
\nStable Production \u2013 Improve operational and quality efficiencies
\nImplement Quality control systems for section
\nAdherence to Company ISO requirements and Toyota standards
\nAssists in the training & guidance of production members
\nPrepares documents & presentations
\nA x W activities, Menken activity
\nCo-ordinate cross functional in support of ECI’s, Engineering Change Instructions, of body and process accuracy, process improvements, quality improvements, productivity improvements, general kaizen
\nEstablish and co-ordinate the maintenance of process parameters.
\nProblem analysis and solving.
\nSet work standards.
\nCarry out activities detailed in the Production Engineering operational plan and trial operational plan prior to volume production<\/p>\n
\nNational Diploma (S4) with +3 yrs post qualification experience.
\nB.Sc or Btech (Mechanical) or equivalent engineering qualification or
\nNational Diploma (S4) with +-3 yrs post qualification experience
\nGood technical knowledge of a weld plant control system.
\nGood working knowledge of production systems,
\nKnowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 requirements
\nHigh level of computer literacy
\nShift work, overtime, stand-by and shutdown
\nWeld Plant experience would be advantageous<\/p>\n
